Today we welcomed our first Geophysicists/Archaeologists. They are investigating a site just outside Cockermouth. Watch this space for more unusual guest occupations.

Grizdale Forest : 2 New sculptures

TWO new sculptures have been added to the collection at Grizedale Forest.

‘Romeo’ and ‘Concrete Country’ have been installed along a popular walking trail in the Forest, which is already home to around 50 permanent pieces of art.

‘Romeo’, by Owen Buller and Rupert Ackroyd, is a 5.5m high tall totem pole dedicated to the plight of an urban fox who made it to the 76th floor of the Shard Tower in London, Europe’s tallest building.

‘Concrete Country’, by Lucy-May Tomlins, won the 13th annual Battersea Park Sculpture Award.

The Ospreys are back

Yes you did read that right. We have joined up with The Spa at Armathwaite Hall to be able to offer you use of the fantastic facilities there. This superb Spa has all the facilities you could ask for from full gym and pools to steam rooms and saunas. There is even an outdoor Jacuzzi pool and also a wide range of treatments that can be booked.
To use the spa facilities you just need to upgrade your room to include a spa package. Room upgrades are available from £10 per person per session. You cannot book day tickets directly with the Spa. See our web site for more details.
